Disney Cruise Line Eliminates Fuel Surcharges

Oy! And it's about time too!

Disney Cruise Line finally eliminates the fuel surcharge that is a remnant of the high fuel prices this past summer.

Disney Cruise Line was notably late to the game of adding fuel surcharges to bookings this year, and now it's one of the last major lines to get rid of the extra fees.

The two-ship line today announced it is eliminating fuel surcharges for all new bookings, effective immediately. The line said in a statement that the decision comes as a result of dropping fuel prices.

I'm hoping it won't come back, but chances are, something similar will happen next summer if the economy recovers by then.

Zz.

Having a fuel surcharge on a Cruise ship seems rather silly to me. They price the cruises, they just decide that if they didn't plan well they'll pass the extra cost on? Something about that rubs me the wrong way. Along with finally "eliminating them"...until prices go back up.
