Pixar Memories: 'Toy Story' to 'WALL-E'

This is a rather late announcement since the talk took place yesterday. But the press release contains a nice summary of Ed Catmull's biography.

Catmull was scheduled to give a lecture at the University of Utah yesterday. Why Utah, you asked?

He earned B.S. degrees in computer science and physics and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Utah.

That would make perfect sense for him to be invited to give such a lecture.

This would have been utterly fascinating to sit in. If anyone reading this actually were in the audience at this event, I'd appreciate a brief review of the lecture.

Z,

Have you considered making a separate page where you keep all your photos, or at least some of the best?

Nope... never thought about it. Besides, it's too much work. :)

I posted under the wrong post, I was reading your Splash Mountain pic and then came over here. Whoops!

Well your pics are great! Thanks for sharing them.

U. of Utah was a great wellspring of computer graphics in the Seventies. Catmull is just one of the students who went on to great things as the new discipline matured.
