The Many Faces of Cinderella Castle

The most amazing aspect of The Magic, The Memories, and You show at the Magic Kingdom is the amazing display on Cinderella Castle, where there castle turns into a variety of colors and themes. You should have seen the video of this show, especially the one with the holiday tag on it, since I've highlighted it on here. If not, just wait a bit, and I'll upload the one that we took during our last trip to WDW barely a week ago.

Anyway, I snapped quite a few photos of the castle during this show, with the holiday tag. So here are the many faces of Cindy's castle during The Magic, The Memories, and You, with the holiday tag.

BTW, has ANYONE ever seen him/herself, or people that he/she knows, during one of these shows?

Oh, how I wish they would leave the castle alone. There is nothing more beautiful than just lighting it at night. No colors, no intruding images, no changing lighting effects. There is nothing to improve upon - it is most beautiful, magical and stunning on its own.

I'm not exactly sure what your problem is. They DO leave the castle alone, most of the night. It means that when the show isn't on, you get your "left-alone castle" all to yourself! In fact, during the day, you don't even see the string of lights covering the castle for the holiday decorations - they made a point to use lights that are of the same color as the the castle!

These are LIGHTS that are on the castle DURING THE SHOW! They haven't done anything to the castle at all!

It blows my mind how they can do all that now. I think it would be spectacular to see in person, and I cannot wait to do so our next trip.

Thanks for sharing so many pics. Stunning.

I am not sure that not liking what they are doing to the castle is a problem.... just an opinion.

I don't care for the projections on the castle during the shows. I wish they would leave it be.... just an honest opinion. I do appreciate that you can't see the strings of lights during the day. I do think the icicles are beautiful for the holiday season. I just don't care for images projected on it. Most things that Disney does are spectacular. This just isn't one of their best ideas.

I still don't get your comment. I mean, for MOST of the evening, the castle is.... the castle! Only for a period of 10 minutes each night do you get these projections. You can't turn your head away for 10 minutes, or go do something else, while the rest of us enjoy it?

That may be the case now - but during other times of the year - the castle has had images projected on it after the fireworks for much of the night.

Guess I don't like the new evening show. I have gone to do other things while it is going on, unfortunately. Glad to hear others like it.

I just think Disney as done better - and will hopefully continue to tweak and change things, as they so often do.

Then you had misdirected your complaint to the WRONG topic. You're complaining about the "defacing" of the castle. The blog post you complaints to has NOTHING whatsoever to do with such defacing.

I suggest you save your pent-up frustration for when it is warranted. If not, you'll come across as someone who simply wants to complain, even when there is no ground for it.

We were in MK for the castle show on Dec 2 and 3. I thought that some of the effects (e.g. gingerbread house, rocketship launching) were fantastic. As far as the pictures themselves go, most were so small and passed so quickly I wouldn't have been able to identify myself or my family. However, some of the bigger pictures were great and on the 3rd, one of the families standing next to me saw their children in one of those. That has to be an awesome feeling.

Thanks for the pictures. They really do a good job showing what the castle looks like.

Peace.

Not pent up frustration - just an opinion.... certainly not worth the energy of these attacks. Some like burgers, some like tofu. Neither need defend their opinion. Happy Holidays.
