Disney Means Business With Their Blu-Ray Discs

If there ever is any doubt that Disney truly means business with their Blu-Ray discs, the December 2008 issue of Home Theater Magazine should dispel all doubts. The magazine picked the Top 5 blu-ray discs in several different categories, and other than the music video category, Disney blu-ray discs feature prominently in each of the categories presented. I will list only the Disney blu-ray that made it into the listed 5 in each of the categories:

Best TV on blu-ray : Lost: Season 3
Best Extras: Sleeping Beauty: 50th Anniversary
Best Interactivity: Sleeping Beauty: 50th Anniversary; Ratatouille; Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (yes, 3 Disney blu-ray made it into the top 5 list)
Best Restoration: Sleeping Beauty: 50th Anniversary
Best Sound: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Best Picture Quality - Animation: Ratatouille, Cars
Best Picture Quality - Live Action: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Best Overall: Sleeping Beauty: 50th Anniversary, Ratatouille, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

In other words, Disney blu-ray discs kick ass!
