Wall-E and Bolt Nominated

Both Wall-E and Bolt were nominated for Best Animated Feature Oscar. Wall-E also was nominated for .... er .... Best Original Screenplay?! Did I read this right? More than half of the movie has no dialog, and it was the better part of the movie as well!

Some time, things with the Academy Award defy explanation.

Zz.

Screenplay does not mean dialogue. It means what it says, screenplay. The way the movie was written, including the actions the characters are written to have taken and the entire story of the film. Read the screenplay (it's readily available online) and you'll see why it was just as deserving. Too bad it didn't get the much deserved Best Picture slot. Frost/Nixon was totally not worthy.

yeah, the screenplay was genius and it deserves to win, especially in a year with such mediocre movies (nominated movies with nonsensical, boring screenplays and characters such as benjamin button?, movies of the sort of frost nixon?). It surely deserved best movie nomination, even if as a movie, it isnt as perfect as the superior but more understated ratatouille. Ratatouille was out in a much better year (even if it is a better accomplishment than micheal clayton, and arguably a better movie than juno or atonement). Anyway, hope Wall E gets best screenplay
