Windy City Pin Traders Meet Oct. 20th

Yesterday we attended another one of our monthly Windy City Pin Traders meeting. It was another HUGE turn out (around 30 people). Of course, half of the people had a hat to wear since this is the meet before Halloween.

We brought a ton of stuff. Along with the stuff we bought for a few members of the group that we shopped for during our last trip, we also brought many pins and merchandise that we bought during that trip. A lot of pins went very quickly, especially that commemorative Disney Dollar pin that had a limited edition of only 500.

Now, I mentioned earlier during my Pin Event trip report of the Mickey as Scoop Sanderson super jumbo pin. We originally got it, but we stupidly canceled it, mainly because of the cost, but also it didn't look that good in print. Well, when we saw it in person at the event, we regretted not getting it. While we tried to get it again during our 4th random selection process, we could not acquire it, mainly because we think everyone there wanted it as well.

Anyway, people in our pin trading group kinda knew we regretted canceling it. Well, yesterday, a family in our group who we have become very close friends with decided to trade one of this pin (they had 3 from that event) with us. Not only that, this pin was autographed not only by the artist, but also by Scoop Sanderson during the pin event! So not only is this a gorgeous pin, but it also has 2 important autographs on its back!

I'll take a picture of it later, but needless to say, we are overjoyed to have this pin. I'd say this was one of the highlights of this pin trading meet. There are just so many nice people within this group, and the friendship we make is more valuable than the pins we trade. I think that when Disney fans get together, there is a common bond that somehow connects all of us to each other. I certainly felt that way whenever I attend one of our monthly pin meet, and I certainly felt that way during the Epcot Anniversary celebration (the continuing trip report for that will be coming up soon).

Zz.
